Well, its here. The last weekend for the year at JMU. Its been quite the up and down year, one that wasnt easy to say the least. First off, never being away from my family for more then a week before I got to college was quite an adjustment. Im glad my roomate and I get along, cuz i DK what i would do if I had a terrible roomate like some people I know this year. Then learning how to manage time with golf and studies was quite the adjustment. When your in season, your pretty much busy from 830am to 830 pm monday thru friday. And to top that time thing off, in the fall, we have 6am workouts monday-wens-friday. WOW that was early. Then the golf tournaments, from my first college tournament near Myrtle Beach where I was so damn nervous on the first hole, to the golf tournament in Charleston, SC where I got 4th place outta 60, at Spring Creek in Virginia, right after my friend Willie's passing, which I was glad I had my family there to watch me and help me through everything, along with what I consider my "2nd" grandparents, who came out and watched me for a few holes, which was nice of them. Then to Hawaii, where it was all fun in the sun except I didnt play particularly well, as well as having to watch the Redskins lose on Monday Night Football at 3pm.(time zones) lol. Winter Break was refreshing, but then it was back on it. The spring season saw me in a slump for a few weeks, which could have been the most frusterating time in my life when it comes to golf. I'd like to thank all the friends from back in EC telling me to keep working hard and my schwag will come back. I told my self, no matter what, this summer there will be no one in the CAA that will practice harder then I will. I feel going into my sophomore year, on a very young team, we need some players to step up. And im going to be one of those players. I think we finished the year ranked 97th out of 290 division 1 golf teams. Not bad, but I expect improvement. We did finish the year off well, placing 4th out of 18 teams at University of Virginia's tournament, beating teams like Maryland, East Carolina, Augusta State, Rutgers, etc.
Now dont get me wrong, im looking forward to the summer ! Looking forward to hanging with the dawgs and girls every day, sleeping in, playing with Champ and Boo, fixing my Dad's golf game, Ariel's first day of summer bonfire!, Senior/Freshman Week and just beaching it up, and some homestyle cooking ! I think this will be an interesting summer, for varoius reasons thats for sure. We'll see how everything goes. But i Can tell you, I am excited.
Now it being the last weekend at JMU, im gunna miss it. Miss the Hillside boys ( Billy is transferring the Randolph Macon for football, he will have a much better shot at playing time there), miss the dorm pregames, miss the RA's ! ha not, going to miss the friends I made and all of that soppy stuff, not going to miss class, I am going to miss Tim and Fielding, our seniors. But next year should be great. Me, Neels, Birdman, and Mr.Chadwick are moving into an offcampus town house in Fox hills, approximetly 0.7 miles away from campus. Should be wild and fun.
But this wont be my last weekend on a college campus for the year just yet, big steve and I are headed up to Salisbury next Saturday for the night to hang with Patty, Elock, Chrissy, Ariel, Melissa, and Krista. Should be a good time.
Rock the Red saturday at 1 baby, Go Caps!
